1. Return policy

At MARAZ Origins, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If for any reason an item does not meet your expectations, we accept returns under the conditions described below.

In accordance with current distance selling legislation, you have a 14-calendar-day right of withdrawal from receipt of your order to return any item that does not suit you.

This 14-day period begins on the day when you, or a third party designated by you (other than the carrier), physically takes possession of the goods. If you order several items in one order and they are delivered separately, the period runs from receipt of the last item.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must notify us of your return decision before the expiry of the 14-day period. You can use the return form available in your customer account or contact us directly.

Returned items must be in perfect resale condition, unused, unworn, with all original tags attached and in their original packaging. Any item returned in non-compliant condition cannot be accepted and will be returned to you at your expense.

2. Return conditions

To be eligible for return, your item must meet the following conditions:

- The item must be returned within 14 calendar days of receipt.

- The item must be in its original condition, unused, undamaged and unaltered.

- The item must be accompanied by all original tags, protective covers and accessories provided.

- The item must be in its original packaging or in equivalent packaging guaranteeing its protection during return transport.

- Proof of purchase (invoice, receipt or confirmation email) must accompany the return.

Important: Leather being a natural material, slight variations in color, grain or texture do not constitute a defect and cannot justify a return. These variations are part of the authenticity and unique beauty of each MARAZ artisanal piece.

Signs of wear, scratches, stains, odors (perfume, tobacco, etc.) or any other sign of use will make the item ineligible for return.

3. Return procedure

Step 1 - Notification: Log in to your customer account on marazorigins.com and go to the 'My Orders' section. Select the order concerned and click 'Return this item'. Fill out the return form indicating the reason for return and any additional information.

Step 2 - Confirmation: You will receive a confirmation email with a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and the return address. This number must be indicated on your package. Without this number, the return may be refused.

Step 3 - Package preparation: Pack the item carefully in its original packaging or equivalent packaging. Attach a copy of your invoice and the RMA number. We recommend keeping proof of shipment and insuring the package for its value.

Step 4 - Shipping: Send the package to the address indicated in the confirmation email. For returns to Senegal and West Africa, use a delivery service with tracking. For international returns, use a postal or express courier service with tracking and insurance.

Step 5 - Reception and inspection: Once the package is received in our warehouses (Dakar), we proceed with inspection of the item within 2 to 5 business days. We verify that return conditions are met. You will receive an email informing you of acceptance or refusal of the return.

Step 6 - Refund or exchange: If the return is accepted, we proceed with the refund or exchange according to your initial request. See the 'Refunds' section for more details.

Return costs: Return costs are your responsibility, unless the item is defective, damaged during transport or an error on our part is proven (wrong item sent, item not matching description). In these cases, we cover return and reshipping costs.

4. Refunds

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to inform you of acceptance or refusal of your refund. If your return is approved, your refund will be processed and a credit will be automatically applied to your original payment method.

Refund time: The refund is made within 7 to 10 business days following acceptance of the return. The time for funds to be received in your bank account may vary depending on your bank and country (usually 3 to 5 additional days).

Refund method: The refund is made to the payment method used when ordering (credit card, PayPal, etc.). For cash or Mobile Money payments, the refund can be made by bank transfer or Mobile Money according to your preferences.

Refunded amount: You will be refunded the total amount of the returned item. Initial shipping costs are not refundable, unless the return is due to an error on our part or a product defect. Return costs remain your responsibility except for mentioned exceptions.

Partial refund: In some cases, a partial refund may be granted if the item shows obvious signs of use, if elements are missing (tags, covers) or if the item was returned more than 14 days after receipt.

Exchange: If you prefer an exchange rather than a refund, indicate it in your return request. We will send you the new item as soon as we have received and inspected the returned item. Exchanges are subject to availability of the desired item. If the item is not available, we will proceed with the refund.

Delays or missing refunds: If you have not received your refund within the indicated time, first check your bank account. Then contact your bank, as there may be an additional processing time. If after all these checks you still have not received your refund, contact us at contact@marazorigins.com.

5. Non-returnable items

Certain items cannot be returned for reasons of hygiene, personalization or custom manufacturing:

Personalized items: Any item that has been personalized (initial engraving, embroidery, specific color choices, dimension modifications) cannot be returned, except in case of manufacturing defect or error on our part.

Custom-made items: Items made to measure according to your specifications (dimensions, colors, materials) are not eligible for return, except in case of non-compliance with the order or defect.

Sale or promotional items: Items purchased during private sales, clearance or with significant discounts (more than 50%) may be subject to specific return conditions indicated at the time of purchase.

Gift cards: Electronic or physical gift cards are neither refundable nor exchangeable.

Items damaged after receipt: Any item showing signs of wear, damage or use after receipt cannot be returned. This includes scratches, stains, deformations, odors or any other sign of use.

Exceptions and special cases: In case of doubt about your item's eligibility for return, do not hesitate to contact our customer service before initiating the procedure. We will study your situation on a case-by-case basis and do our best to find a satisfactory solution.

Defective items: If you receive an item with a manufacturing defect, damage or non-compliance with your order, contact us immediately at contact@marazorigins.com with photos. We will arrange return and replacement or refund at no cost to you.
